SME Academy is led by Dr. Manab Chakraborty, a development finance practitioner for over forty years. He began with Oxfam in 1984, managed programmes at the United Nations, and founded Mimo Finance, a microfinance institution serving hill communities in Uttarakhand. He has led Intercooperation Social Development India, served on the board of Adhikar Microfinance, and trained credit officers across the Asia-Pacific for the FAO and APRACA.
